Some more fun ideas to keep your kids busy during this time (special thanks to my friend Kim Sauer for many of these ideas!)
- Do a Word Walk: make flash cards with sight words and lay them out in a path on the floor. Take turns walking the path and reading the words, kids can pick up the words they get right! Who got the most words?
- Have the kids put together a puppet show to present to dad!
- Make an obstacle course using strings to block walkways
- Make a movie or a play together
- Play store
- M & M answer game - make a list of color coded questions related to something you are studying - give the kids each a small handful of M & M's and based on the color of their M & M's they have to answer the color-coded questions.
- Buy a new game for learning (see list of games on my recommended page)
- Make a fort in the living room
- Camp out in the back yard if it's warm enough!
- Set up a treasure hunt!
