The Chamber is offering a number of webinars to help you navigate through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Today, March 24, 4 p.m. – Experts will discuss how businesses can access emergency loan capital at the state and federal level. We strongly encourage small businesses to join us and begin applying for loans as soon as possible. Included on the call will be: Michael DiNapoli, Director, Office of Small and Minority Business Capital, Florida Department of Economic Opportunity; Michael W. Myhre, CEO, Florida SBDC Network and Carolyn Skog, SVP/SBA Lending Officer, One Florida Bank.
Employers are struggling to keep their businesses afloat during this unprecedented health and economic crisis. As difficult as it is, layoffs are sometimes necessary in order to prevent a business from closing permanently. Their goal is to simply stay in business and be able to rehire and provide needed jobs when life gets back to normal and customers return. Many new loans and programs are being rolled out to small businesses to help them pay their expenses including payroll (www.floridadisasterloan.org and www.disasterloan.sba.gov ), but some layoffs may be inevitable. In the meantime, these resources might be able to help their employees facing layoffs or pay reductions.
