House full and all is well!

Kristin and I are rejoicing that three of our four children are home for this season.  Only Daniel is away in Miami, FL.  With Purdue and public schools shifting to online learning, offices encouraging everyone to work from home, the Livermore household has no vacancies!

As I was looking at Acts chapter 1 this morning I noticed a question that seems like it came straight out of the mouths of God's people just this week, but first let's look at the context.  Jesus had gathered His disciples and other followers after He was resurrected.  He is about ready to ascend to heaven and they ask this question: “Lord, is it at this time You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?”  They are basically saying is this when you fix everything, just before going away.  Jesus' response is what I needed to hear:  “It is not for you to know times or epochs which the Father has fixed by His own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and even to the remotest part of the earth.”

Did you catch it? Jesus reminds us that His Father is in control.  The times and epochs are known and completely obedient to His commands.  Today is no surprise or problem for our Father.  He is well aware of the pandemic we are in the middle of.  Jesus' words grab my lapel and pull my face to Him and He tells me - don't worry about how this all fits together, know this: walk in the power of My Spirit and be my witnesses, let Me and My Father take care of all the other details.  This was so comforting to me as I read it.  I pray this is helpful for you, too.

We have no idea where things will go, but we know who holds it all together in the palm of His hand!  We are OK and God continues to meet our needs.  We thank God for you.
