New CDC Guidelines for Elderly/Disabled Housing
Preventing the Spread of COVID-19 in Retirement Communities and Independent Living Facilities: Interim Guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
This guidance is for owners, administrators, operators, workers, volunteers, visitors, and residents of retirement communities and ILF that are not healthcare facilities. [The guidance covers] public housing for low- to-moderate income elderly.
CDC also provides valuable advice on dealing with the stress that comes from isolation and the threat of disease.
Stress and Coping
The outbreak of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) may be stressful for people. Fear and anxiety about a disease can be overwhelming and cause strong emotions in adults and children.
