THE WORK CONTINUES
Yesterday Governor Brown issued an Executive Order for Oregonians to Stay Home Except for Essential Needs. So many of those we serve each day can’t comply with this order for the simple reason that they lack a place to call home. To help them meet their essential needs, our team of 300 advocates continues to work each day – in shelters, in our day center, and across the streets of Portland. And they could use your help!

Helping hundreds every day and continuing our operations during this crisis has and will continue to add additional costs. Please consider a gift to support these efforts. Your gift will go to immediate use to support essential services for our neighbors experiencing homelessness.

MEAL FUNDS URGENTLY NEEDED
The coronavirus pandemic has led to many unexpected costs. Due to public health recommendations, we're unable to have volunteers make meals for participants in our kitchens and have had to seek out more expensive meal options.  The cost to provide a hot meal has almost doubled. Donate today to help us to provide healthy, nutritious meals for the residents in our nine shelters.

FUND-RAISE FOR TRANSITION PROJECTS
We recognize that a meaningful gift looks different for every one. For some, sharing causes they care about with their networks and encouraging peer-fundraising efforts are among the best ways to help.  Facebook provides an easy platform to share an existing fundraiser or to fund-raise on behalf of a birthday or special event. Read this quick how-to guide and then click the button below to get started.

A CREATIVE WAY TO SUPPORT OUR PARTICIPANTS
Wendy Smith and her son Eli spent the week hand-sewing 50 masks in a variety of interesting patterns for our participants to wear. This thoughtful gift will provide comfort and safety to those we serve. Thank you, Wendy and Eli, for supporting your community!
CONTINUE TO HELP FROM HOME
With people mandated to only leave their homes for essential tasks and appointments, collecting items to donate is becoming more challenging. The demand for essential items like clothing, hygiene supplies and linens is increasing as we continue to serve our community. Help your neighbors experiencing homelessness by donating to our Amazon wish list.
