To all of our Datacomp clients,

As we continue to navigate the evolving business climate, we wanted to let you know that we remain committed to serving you in accordance with state guidelines regarding the operation of our business and priority on the safety of our team members.

Because we were proactive and made the transition to a fully-remote workforce over a week ago, Datacomp is able to remain open during this time and we continue to complete appraisals where allowed.  Several states have placed restrictions on non-essential businesses that prohibit our inspectors from completing their on-site evaluations of manufactured homes. These states currently include CA, DE, IL, NJ, MI, NY, OH, and PA.  In addition, there are several cities and counties that have enacted a similar “shelter in place” policy that restricts our ability to complete appraisals.

Since our JLT Market Reports can be purchased online and downloaded electronically, our ability to fulfill market data orders remains unaffected by these restrictions.

In those areas of the country where we are allowed, we will continue to complete appraisals and inspections and deliver the results to you in as timely a manner as possible.  For the safety of your customers and our field inspectors, we are trying to arrange home inspections to be completed while no one else is in the home.  We also are asking that all interior doors be left open so that we limit the amount of physical contact needed to proceed through the home.

For those areas where “lockdown” or stay-at-home restrictions are in effect and on-site home inspections are impossible, Datacomp can offer you a desk appraisal based on information and photos provided by the homeowner or listing agent. This appraisal would be completed in a manner similar to our standard appraisals with the exception that instead of having one of our field inspectors walk through the home taking photos and answering questions the homeowner or agent would answer those questions and provide us with interior and exterior photos.  This information would then be screened and checked for accuracy by our staff appraisers and customer service specialists before proceeding with the completion of the appraisal and the determination of value.

We will be contacting you individually to update you on the status of appraisals that are in progress.  For those appraisals that are on hold due to restrictions, you can let us know if you would like us to proceed with a desk appraisal or keep the appraisal on hold until further notice.

We look forward to working with you during the coming weeks and months until business returns to normal.  We thank you for your business and your understanding.

Sincerely,

Mark Johnson
