March 2020 Updates
Dear POLLEN Members and Friends,

During these turbulent times we were happy to receive a large amount of input from members across the network. It's great to see that the POLLEN sense of community is being upheld, despite the challenges we all face during the pandemic. 

This month we have a lot of exciting new publications and blog posts, information about a new page on the website with tips for moving our (working) lives online, a couple of PhD announcements and some other bits and bobs. We are also sad to announce the cancellation of POLLEN20 this coming June. Read more about all this by scrolling down.

Reminder: A small favour to ask
 
We have restructured the list of POLLEN Nodes on the website to make it more reader-friendly and easier to identify and locate nodes based on their location. However, we are aware that not all hyperlinks to institutions and people are correct and/or active. Many of you have done this already, but if you haven't please locate your node on the site and let us know if your link needs changing!

As a way of trying to help the POLLEN community and others adapt to the measures taken to slow down the spread of COVID19, we put out a request for tips on resources that can inspire/help us moving conference panels, workshops, teaching, etc. online. We've received some great inputs already and published them here. If you know of any other resources, please share them with us! 
POLLEN20 Conference

Dear POLLEN friends,

We regret that we must announce that planning for the POLLEN 20 conference, scheduled for June 2020, has been put on hold by the hosts in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. In light of this, the conference organizers are taking some time to consider carefully alternative arrangements for hosting the conference. We will be updating registered delegates and the wider POLLEN community about the new plan for the conference as soon as possible.
 
Those who have already submitted final materials and registered as part of an organized session can use this form to indicate their intentions, including whether they wish to withdraw from the conference, cancel registration and/ or request a refund of fees.
 
We thank you for your patience and understanding at this time and will be updating the conference web site and the main POLLEN web site as updates become available.

A note from the organisers of EXALT 2020
 

Dear POLLEN-community,

As many of us are seeing our lives changed by COVID-19 and the measures taken to stop the pandemic, the most important thing right now is to take care of ourselves and each other. In addition, we believe there is great value in continuing the important dialogue for a more sustainable and just world. As the EXALT 2020 conference is in October and still many months away, we are continuing with the planning and will keep the Call for Abstracts open. In the meantime, the EXALT coordination team continues to closely follow the development of the situation and will make further decisions accordingly as needed.

Please submit your abstract by April 6th through this link. (submission guidelines below)

Videos discussing The Conservation Revolution: Radical Ideas for Saving Nature Beyond the Anthropocene: Bram Büscher looks at the radical revolution needed within conservation, proposing a post-capitalist approach that incorporates decolonisation, and goes beyond individual responsibility. Access videos here.

MA Peace and Conflict Studies: Centre for Trust, Peace and Social Relations, Coventry University. Open to anyone with the requisite qualifications and is split in to three stages – PG Certificate, PG Diploma and MA. Each stage lasts eight months with an optional short residential workshop at the start of each stage. The curriculum and pedagogy are developed and delivered by staff who are research active in diverse fields and often have practitioner background. If interested, visit the course website here.
