There are currently over 23,000 displaced children in need of foster care due to the COVID-19 situation. With caregiver policy and processes changing, schools and daycares closing, and daily lives being impacted by these uncertain times, the need for our services has never been greater.
The Fostering Our Future team is working hard to help organize and implement additional supports for the foster families being affected by the current pandemic and is proud to announce the first resource for caregivers, family support volunteers, church/ministry team leaders, and supporters alike.
Fostering Our Families Virtual Community Meeting
Every Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 AM – 10:45 AM
This community meeting is open to all interested supporters of the Fostering Our Families initiative, and will feature open conversations about adapting to new the realities in caregiver policy and processes, sharing ideas for creating daily structure and routines while preschoolers and students are learning from home, and how our family support volunteers and ministry team leaders can provide help to those in need while maintaining a stay-at-home and social distancing strategy to lower the curve. These bi-weekly meetings are intended to provide relevant, helpful information to the community and help support and advocate for those who need it most.
