Your Weekly Checkoff Update
National Ag Week Takes on a Different Look During COVID-19 Pandemic

A Message from American Dairy Association North East Chairman Rich Byma, Sussex, New Jersey Dairy Farmer
National Agriculture Week is this week, March 22-28, and things are certainly a little different as we navigate the COVID-19 situation. For farmers, every day is Ag Day, and we’re fortunate that we can continue to go to work. I can’t imagine not having the farm to help stay grounded during this time of “not-knowing” and “what if.”

What we do know for sure is that we will continue to produce a high-quality product, and we are grateful to the businesses that continue to process the milk and to those who distribute the products so they’re available to the families whose lives have changed so dramatically.
Our dairy checkoff staff has been working hard to help keep dairy accessible and available - from our retail team helping stock store shelves to our youth programs team helping get meals with dairy to students, and to our communications team providing online educational resources for students studying at home.

For those who can, please stay home. For those who continue to work, please be safe. And remember to support your local businesses as much as possible.
DMI CEO Tom Gallagher Praises the Unity of the Dairy Industry During Challenging Times
Playing a role as one of our country’s critical infrastructure industries, the work of our dairy farmers is more important than ever — in their communities and the nation at large. That’s a huge responsibility to carry, and I’m proud of the resilience and hard work I’m seeing from dairy farmers, every day.
