Hi <<First Name>>,

If there is anything that we can say of the year 2020, it is that it’s been full of surprises, and we’re currently living through one of its biggest surprises to date. In the light of all that is happening with COVID-19 response and reactions, I’m certain that each of you are enduring your own periods of adjustments as we work to find a new normal in the midst of unexpected chaos. I want to celebrate your resilience, tenacity and collective leadership as you work to show up not only for yourself, but for each other, our students, your families, and our communities. On the tough days, remember that we are here with you, safely six feet away, lol, but ready to lend a helping hand as needed. In the coming days, as solutions are proposed and executed, and the cycle of change carries on, please do not hesitate to reach out if you find yourself in a state of need. We’d love to be able to partner with you to offer support in whatever way we can. In the meantime, we also want to send a handful of resources your way to aid you in connecting with others, accessing COVID-19 resources, growing in your virtual talent and capabilities, or connecting with the team for one-on-on support.

Browse at your leisure, use what you can, share liberally and stay healthy and well,

Your TFA Jax Family

Alumni Resources
Connect with alumni across the nation! We’ve seen a desire for collaboration from TFA groups as we all navigate the impact of COVID-19. We hear you asking how you can do more to help our students, communities, and one another. So, we’re inviting all alumni and corps members to join a temporary TFA Network Slack workspace. This resource is similar to Microsoft Teams and allows you to share resources, links and direct message other alumni. Search for #Jacksonville to connect with local alumni and corps members or view resources from across the country. Once you’ve joined, create a profile, set up your notification preferences, and start sharing resources and lifting up challenges where you are seeking partnership. You can also check out our social channels below!

TFA Jacksonville - Navigating COVID 19 Resource
We know navigating all of the resources available can be daunting, so we compiled this catalog to support teachers, students, school leaders, parents and community members. The resources are all organized with a table of contents so you can quickly find what you need.

TFA Jacksonville - Supply Drive!
We created a school supplies drive as a way to ensure all students have the resources needed to learn at home. Teach For America Jacksonville recognized we needed to support our students and families through this transition. Given the rapid nature of the crisis many schools and families had very little time to prepare for a home-learning approach. The supplies listed in the drive were requested by each school, and posted in an Amazon account that will be shipped directly to each school. Please check out the website and consider donating!

Office Hours Support - Teacher & School Leader Planning
We are offering office hours to support our teachers and school leaders with the transition to virtual school including: converting lessons to virtual format, finding resources and online activities for students, thought partnering for online learning implementation. Set up a 30 minute video conference - we'd love to hear from you!

I Still Teach For America Dinner - Postponed
Due to the restrictions on in-person events, we will be postponing the I Still Teach For America dinner until fall of 2020. We look forward to creating a celebratory and inspirational event for our teachers. Look out for more details in the coming months!
