Sausalito Library Services During Covid-19
|
|
- Marin County residents have been directed to shelter at home until at least April 7, 2020, in accordance with a public health order from Marin Health and Human Services that went into effect on March 17
- In accordance with the order, the Sausalito Library is currently closed to the public
- We are waiving overdue fines on Sausalito Library books and other materials and encouraging patrons to keep their materials at home
- We are extending due dates for all materials
- Book drops have been closed
- Sausalito residents are encouraged to take advantage of the library's digital collections of e-books, e-audiobooks, and streaming video, all of which will remain available
- Updates on other City services may be found at sausalito.gov/coronavirus
- Staff will be available at the circulation and reference desks to answer questions about your library account or provide assistance with digital resources, Monday-Friday, 10:00 a.m - 5:00 p.m. at 415-289-4121.
Please note that the Friends of the Library have also made the decision to temporarily close the Friends Bookstore on the upper level of City Hall.

Get a MARINet Library Card for Online Access
|
|
If you don't yet have a card, Online registration for an immediate full-access library card is available for Marin County residents aged 16 years or older. A valid credit card with a Marin County billing address is required for address verification purposes only. Your credit card will not be charged. If you don't have a
|
|
|
credit card, you may obtain immediate access to the OverDrive collection using the Get a Library Card form on the MARINet website and resetting your PIN via a valid email address.
|

Kanopy offers on-demand streaming of classic, independent, and foreign films, as well as extensive instructional video collections. Titles are available from Paramount Classics, the Criterion Collection, the Great Courses, and more. For Sausalito residents only. Kanopy is made possible through a grant from the Friends of the Sausalito Library.

|
|
New York Times offers 24-hour passes for full, online access to this popular newspaper when you sign up for an account using your email address.No credit card is required to redeem your code. To activate your access, you’ll need to log in or register first. Not applicable for existing digital or home delivery subscribers.

|
|
Mango Languages is an online, interactive language learning tool for adults, featuring over 40 foreign languages for English speakers and more than 15 English language courses for non-English speakers.

|
RBDigital (formerly Zinio) is the world's largest newsstand, offers full color, interactive digital magazines for your enjoyment.
Download the app so you can read magazines on your device. You'll need to have already registered from MARINet's RBdigital Magazines page to get free access.

Get a Free Meal (for Families)
|
|
Bagged breakfast and lunch will be provided for all Bayside Martin Luther King Jr. Academy and Willow Creek Academy families.
Meals are available for pickup at the Bayside MLK campus Monday through Friday from 10:30 AM until 12 noon for the duration of the school closure.

|
|
The San Francisco-Marin Food Bank is currently offering weekly distributions of food for pick up on Wednesdays at the Bayside MLK campus from 10:30 AM to 12 noon.

Take a Digital Field Trip
|
|
The Cincinnati Zoo is offering an at-home safari. Available daily on their Facebook at 12 PDT.
The California State Parks are offering a variety of home learning programs. Visit the website to sign up for a live Zoom session. Recorded broadcasts will be saved and shared to YouTube at a later date.

BrainPOP is extending free access to anyone impacted by the Coronavirus and school closures. BrainPOP covers a variety of subjects and is targeted at students in grades K-12.
KQED Plus is offering educational programming that will be broadcast on air. Check the schedule for further information re: specific times and targeted age groups. KQED also offers free digital learning activities for at-home use.
Scholastic Learn At Home is offering four lessons each day for children in PreK through 9th grade.
