Our Path Forward

As we enter yet another week of rapid change in the world and in our community, we at Mt. Waddington’s Outdoors have also had to make some very hard choices. Our team has always been like family, and yet this week we were forced to make the devastating decision to temporarily lay off most of our staff, knowing that if we do not do so now we will not be able to reopen when we make it through to the other side of all of this.

Many of you have reached out to ask how you can help us make it through so that we can be here to serve as your local mountain shop and good times facilitator long into the future. I have been struggling with this question as I know that many of you are going through tough financial times too, and we do not want you to purchase equipment or clothing that you do not need, and we do not want you to be out shopping if you do have to.

How You Can Help

What we have come up with is this. If you purchase your summer gear by gift card now you can help us keep our doors open. We are in this with you and so we will add an extra 10% to any gift card you buy, either for a loved ones birthday, your own plan to purchase a new tent sometime this summer, or for any other occasion.

Our Next Steps

We expect BC to follow Ontario and Quebec and mandate the closure of all non-essential businesses in the coming days and so we are committed to either delivering or shipping your gift cards (Payable online or over the phone) or any other gear that you buy.

Our new store hours are 12-6 Tuesday to Friday, and 12-5 Saturday and Sunday (Pending Further Notice)
