What's New?
- These colleges have adopted some form of pass/fail grading for this semester: Smith, MIT, Georgetown, Carnegie Mellon, Duke, Middlebury, University of Mary Washington.
- The chancellor of the California community colleges has directed schools to plan for online instruction, not only through this academic year, but through the 2020-2021 school year as well.
- The following schools have been added to the list of test-optional colleges (at least for this admissions cycle):
Tufts, Scripps, Drury, Anderson (Indiana), Bonaventure, University of St. Thomas (Minnesota), Suffolk, Bellarmine, University of Nebraska, Concordia (Texas), St. Mary's College of Maryland, St. Mary-of-the-Woods, Spalding University, Mansfield University of Pennsylvania.
- Cal Tech has eliminated the SAT Subject Test requirement.
- The Educational Testing Service has created a GRE and a TOEFL to be taken at home.
- International Baccalaureate has cancelled May exams. ACT has rescheduled its April 4 test to June 13. The May 2 SAT has been cancelled. No word yet on the June 2 sitting.
- Liberty University has invited its students to return to school after spring break.
- Central Washington University has declared an imminent financial crisis due to the coronavirus. The San Francisco Art Institute, facing financial problems for similar reasons, will not accept fall students.
