Introducing APBAMBOO 2020

In November, the three-day Asia-Pacific Bamboo Symposium & Expo (APBAMBOO 2020) will provide a platform for leading regional experts to share knowledge, ideas and technologies related to bamboo’s use in the region.

BAMBOO AND RATTAN PUBLICATIONS
INBAR’s online library houses the latest research, assessments and policy studies about bamboo, rattan and their uses. In 2019, INBAR published more than 40 publications related to bamboo, rattan and their uses. So far in 2020, INBAR has published:
  • Manual for Sustainable Management of Clumping Bamboo Forest
INBAR and the CGIAR Research Programme on Forests, Trees and Agroforestry (FTA) have published a new set of guidelines that comprehensively outline current best practices in the sustainable management of clumping bamboo. Read the summary here.
  • National Bamboo Strategies and Action Plans for Ethiopia and Uganda
These reports, which were produced by INBAR as part of its series on national bamboo plans and policies, were commissioned, developed and written by the  Environment, Forest and Climate Change Commission of Ethiopia and the Ministry of Water and Environment of Uganda, respectively.   • Bamboo Policy Integration Analysis: West Africa, Ghana
This study critically analyses bamboo's potential to contribute to Ghanaian forestry, environment, agriculture, energy, trade and employment policies and programmes. Read the report here.
  • Evaluación regional de recursos de bambú mediante la aplicación móvil [Spanish]
This report presents the results of a pilot study from Manabí, Ecuador, to evaluate the area's bamboo resources. Read the report here.
