Greetings from Game Plan: College!

Game Plan: College is a FREE one-stop-shop for information about how to plan, prepare, and be accepted to 4-year and 2-year colleges as well as professional certificate programs. Students participate in interactive workshops and individualized one-on-one advising services (including virtual), ACT Test Prep, and Enrichment Programs that are led by Emily K Center Staff and are supported by the program’s Teen Ambassadors. 

We assist any Durham high school student with ANYTHING college related!

Game Plan: College's 
Virtual Workshop Series

 
Game Plan: College is excited to announce our Virtual Workshop Series for all high school students. Each Monday GPC staff will be hosting virtual workshops on various topics around postsecondary access. Sessions at 10:00 AM will cover topics mostly pertaining to underclass students. Sessions at 2:00 PM will generally cover topics most relevant to Seniors. Topics will include:
  • DPS Counselor Question & Answer
  • Understanding Your Financial Aid Award Package 
  • Why is College Important? 
....and many more! 

Additionally, we are inviting colleges/universities to host Virtual Information Sessions. These will occur at 10:00 AM and 2:00 PM Tuesdays through Fridays. 

Our first workshop will be an introduction to our virtual services and responses to  COVID-19. Please, join us this upcoming Monday, March 30th at 2:00pm.

Serie de talleres virtuales con el equipo de Game Plan: College
El equipo de Game Plan: College se complace en anunciar nuestra serie de talleres virtuales para todos los estudiantes de secundaria. Cada lunes, el personal de GPC organizará talleres virtuales sobre diversos temas relacionados con el acceso postsecundario. Las sesiones a las 10:00 AM cubrirán temas principalmente relacionados con estudiantes del noveno al onceavo grado. Las sesiones a las 2:00 PM generalmente cubrirán los temas  para los estudiantes de último año. Los temas incluirán:
  • Preguntas y respuestas con los consejera/os de las escuelas secundarias publicas de Durham
  • Los paquetes de ayuda financiera
  • ¿Por qué es importante la universidad?
....¡y muchos más!

Además, estamos invitando a colegios/universidades a organizar sesiones de información virtual. Estas ocurrirán a las 10:00 AM y a las 2:00 PM de martes a viernes.

Check out the Durham Food Resources app for your mobile device. It is a great resource for food pantries and contact information in Durham, NC. 

Durham County Library COVID-19 Update
Online access: You can still check out online resources, including ebooks, e-audiobooks, magazines, TV shows, and more.
Current cardholders: If you have an existing Durham County Library card, you can sign in to online resources with your account number and PIN. Your account number is the full 14-digit number from the back of your card, starting with 2345, entered with no spaces. If you don’t know your PIN, try the last 4 digits of the phone number associated with your account – if that doesn’t work, get in touch.
Durham Public Schools students: Did you know that you can access Durham County Library’s ebooks, e-audiobooks, and more using your Durham Public Schools student ID number? Now is the perfect time to try it out – learn more about access for DPS students.
