BREAKING NEWS FROM THE FLORIDA CONFERENCE: Word came from the Florida Conference Office of BISHOP CARTER on THURSDAY, MARCH 26, 2020 that all United Methodist Churches in Florida are asked to follow the guidelines from the Country, Community and Conference through Easter Weekend. That means that we at Indian River City Church will continue offering our Weekend Worship Experiences ONLINE ONLY for the next 3 weekends of March 28-29, April 4-5 and Easter Weekend on April 11-12, 2020. HI THERE! WWWWWWWWWEEEEEEEEEEEEELLLLLLLL...it's been quite the week! I hope this E-NOTE finds you well and experiencing the "Joy of The Lord!" Since I do not get to actually see you this weekend, it is extra important to me to visit with you in THE UPPER ROOM every morning! I thought of all that stuff when I headed there this morning when we were reminded that "Everyone should be quick to listen slow to speak and slow to become angry! If we get angry, we cannot do any of the good things that God wants done!" (James 1:19-20) These times are definitely times that call you and me to take the time to actually listen to one another so that we can meet them at their place of need instead of our place of want! SSSSSSSSOOOOOOOOO...this is our very first attempt at using a new E-Mail System so that we can better connect with you! I hope you and yours will join us this weekend at our ONLINE CHURCH and access our WORSHIP VIDEO either on our IRCUMC Facebook Page and/or our IRCUMC WEBSITE starting on SATURDAY @ 6PM. You will find some great Music and our next step in our "LIVE LIFE LIVE!" series of Life Lessons! We'll gather ourselves around PHILIPPIANS 3:12-17 and learn how to develop the holy habits that will help us experience the "Joy of The Practice!" I want yo uto know that I and lots of others are actively praying for you and yours every single day and I am looking for you every morning in THE UPPER ROOM so that we can see, hear and know God and listen to him speak life into our day! PRACTICING OUR GENEROSITY: Despite not passing the Offering Plates at our preferred "Time Zone!" there are still ways for you and I to continue supporting the Church with our generosity! You and I can always go to the IRCUMC WEBSITE and discover how easy it is to give online! (This is the way I do it!" or we can always place our gift in an envelope addressed to 1355 Cheney Highway, Titusville, Florida, 32780 into the mail at our first opportunity! Your giving and my giving is absolutely vital to our ability to serve God's Purpose within our Congregation, on our Campus and into our Community! I sincerely appreciate the good use of your time, talent, treasure and things so that ministry & mission can still happen here! CAMPUS ACTIVITIES: Following the guidelines given prohibiting our gathering together in groups bigger than 10 people, there are NO planned activities happening on our Campus during this time! We really encourage you to stay connected with others through calls, cards, texts, E-Mails and any other ways that you can imagine! Find out what works for you and your circle of friends! We eagerly await the "All Clear!" to resume our group gatherings!
WHY DO WE PRAY?! Great question! Thanks for asking! On FRIDAY (3/27) in THE UPPER ROOM we heard that "God is not like you and me! He doesn't say false things or change his mind first this way and then that way! What he says, he does! What he promises, he makes sure it happens!" (Numbers 23:19) We can completely trust God to tell us the truth and keep at it until what he has said happens! This is why we pray!
WHY DO WE GIVE?! Great question! Thanks for asking! On SATURDAY (3/28) in THE UPPER ROOM we heard God reminds us that "Whenever we get the chance to help anyone, we should do it starting with those followers of Jesus who are closest to us! (Galatians 6:10) These days are extra full of opportunities to do something good that will benefit and bless Christ's Church and Children! Thanks for using your time, talent, treasure and things to make our Campus, Congregation and Community at a better and brighter place to live, give and grow! This is why we give!
SERVING OPPORTUNITIES: Because of the gathering guidelines in place and our desire to guard our volunteers...we have no plans in place for any on-campus serving opportunities! When the Country, Community and Conference give us the "All Clear!" to gather again, we will serve God's Purpose together!
WHAT NOW?! please take care of you and yours and then check on your friends and neighbors! Find a way to communicate hope with your Small Group, Serving TEAM, Sunday School Class! Encourage one another! Pray for one another! Love one another! Serve one another! WWWEEELLL...you get the idea! Thanks for living so others can see, hear and know Jesus! You are "Jesus-With-Skin-On!"
