WHAT'S IN IT FOR ME
The White House has finally struck a deal with the Senate to provide a $2 trillion stimulus to support the fledging economy in the wake of the coronavirus.

WORKING REMOTELY
Like much of the country, I am working remotely through the pandemic. The office is dark, and all staff are in their respective homes. Ryder and I have phones that connect to the office line, so a call to the office will get you one of us. We are all working online and connecting through emails and texts. Occasionally, this boomer insists on an actual phone call.

This business requires a phone, a computer and internet connectivity. As long as we have those three things, we can work anywhere. In this respect, we are fortunate and know that not everyone has that luxury. I traveled to North Carolina before the lockdown occurred and find myself stuck in the mountains—not a bad place to be! But the magic of technology means I can keep churning through a crazy market. Here’s hoping those days are numbered, and we can meet face-to-face again soon.

IRS EXTENDS INCOME TAX DEADLINE
If the building uncertainty surrounding the economy and coronavirus has thrown you for a loop and you have forgotten to file your taxes, don't worry. You still have time.

The Treasury Department and Internal Revenue Service announced recently that the federal income tax filing due date is automatically extended from April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020. HOWEVER, state deadlines may vary. As of now the Mississippi deadline is set for May 15th.

Taxpayers can also defer federal income tax payments due on April 15, 2020, to July 15, 2020, without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount owed.
Need a consultation but don’t need germs? We’ve been using Zoom for several years and can “meet” you online. You’ll need a computer or iPad with a camera, but it’s easy. Call or email to schedule a time, and we’ll send you a link.

We are still doing radio even if we have to do it remotely. Money Talks airs every Tuesday at 9 am CST. If you miss the live broadcast, click here to tune in to the MPB podcast.
