E-Textiles Network Summer Workshop

Due to current circumstances we have made the decision to postpone our summer workshop on elite sports and leisure. However, we are hoping to hold a webinar on  an E-Textiles topic so please watch this space for more information.
The WEARPLEX project is a 3 year EU Horizon 2020 funded project with University of Southampton as the coordinator.  The project involves the development of wearable EMG and FES devices integrated into textiles with 10 partners from across Europe. The details of the project and early results were presented at the recent Innovations in Large-Area Electronics Conference (InnoLAE 2020) hosted at the University of Cambridge.

The session was titled Wearables for Health Care and was well attended. As coordinator of the project, Dr Russel Torah from University of Southampton presented the work on behalf of the consortium. The presentation can be found on the WEARPLEX website and introduces the consortium, technology concepts and early results of the project including fabric demonstrators and workshop events hosted by the project. After the session, samples from this project and other UoS projects were demonstrated to the audience which impressed them and the session chair; the project has been asked to return again next year to provide further updates.

If you would like to know more about the project then contact rnt@ecs.soton.ac.uk or subscribe to the mailing list here.

The Conference Proceedings for E-Textiles 2019 are now available on the MDPI Proceedings website. Presentations from the conference are also available on the E-Textiles Network website.
Nottingham Trent University is seeking a Research Assistant in Electronic or Biomedical Engineering who will contribute to their research project on smart wound care. This is a full time post, fixed term for 12 months and the closing date is the 1st April 2020. For more information please contact Dr Yang Wei yang.wei@ntu.ac.uk.
