BRYTE CHURCH

April Newsletter
Hello Church Family!

During these uncertain days, people are afraid and many times we can even see fear on many faces. People are alarmed and feel as though they don’t have control - because the truth is; they don’t. We don't know everything that is going on, when it will be over, and who may or may not get sick. John 14 tells us of a time when the disciples were afraid. During this time Jesus said something that turned their world upside down. Jesus says: “Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me” (John 14:1). He didn’t tell them “Think over your problems.” or "Find a solution" Rather, He said, “Don’t be troubled.”

Life is filled with various troubles. It seems as though you get one problem resolved, two more take its place. While we all have reasons to be troubled, there is a bigger reason NOT to be: We know Jesus! He said to His disciples, “Trust in God, and trust also in me” (John 14:1). Letting them know that He brought them this far, he will not abandon them now, and that He knows what He is doing. There are times in our lives when things happen that we just don’t understand. During these time of confusion, it's a good idea to fall back on what we do understand and believe: First, we should understand that God loves us. Second, we should understand that He is looking out for us with our best interests in mind. And lastly, we understand that no matter what happens, He will get us through this.

Let's spend some time with our families in prayer being reminded of the things that are true and understandable. Then we can look to God and His word rather then anywhere else for our source of peace and understanding.

OVERCOMING DESTRUCTIVE EMOTIONS
Current Series - Every Sunday at 12:30PM

Bryte Church is currently going through an special Church Series looking at Emotions. Tune in and Join us Online every Sunday.

What do your emotions tell you about your emotional and spiritual health? Did you know that the Bible speaks to our emotions and captures many times heavy emotional situations?
  - I am lonely and afflicted. The troubles of my heart are enlarged. (
Ps 25:16–17)
  - Every night I flood my bed with tears; I drench my couch with my weeping. My
eye wastes away because of grief (
Psalm 6:6–7)
  - I have great sorrow and unceasing anguish in my heart. (
Romans 9:2)

God knew that as emotional beings, we would have negative and destructive emotions ready to attack at any point, this is why there is a call to Delight, Stand in Awe, Be Amazed in Him to overcome these destructive emotions. But make no mistake, this is a battle, and more spiritual than just emotional. A battle for Joy in God and our lives hang on it. The Bible and it's authors show us over and over, not how smooth our lives should be, but how they have battled in the waves of impossible obstacles.

What is God teaching you through this new Series? Let us know and share your thoughts online. If you haven't tuned in to our series yet, or missed a weekend, check out the Series available on the Bryte Church Youtube Page.
