We are getting honey to you during this lockdown

Greetings from us and our Honey Bears. We hope our newsletter finds you well during this challenging season of COVID 19. As of this week, we are able to courier Honey to you. For those living in Whanganui freight is $5 for 1-8kg of honey. We are shipping at least twice a week.

Once we return to level 2 we will be able to enjoy seeing your faces in our shop and filling your own jars with tasty honey.

Canaan's new season....

Canaan honey has been a family business for the past 40 years. John and Janice are legendary in the Whanganui community and have a wealth of knowledge and experience in honey making. Son Michael in 2020 along with his fiance Melissa have taken the business on to see it continue in Whanganui. Michael is passionate about bees and has been working alongside his Dad, John, for a number of years. We look forward to continuing the business and getting to know all of our customers. One of the things we have enjoyed over the summer season has been getting out and about to the markets in the Whanganui, Manawatu and Taranaki region and we look forward to more market days beyond COVID19.

The shop hours will also continue as normal post COVID19.

The season is Extraction Extraction Extraction

We are taking the last honey off our hives this week. Then its extraction, extraction, extraction. It's a pretty exciting time seeing golden delicious honey pouring out of the extractor. Wildflower, bush, manuka and the all favourite clover. Yes that's me recovering from a dislocated shoulder... Thanks to Adrian from Earlham College, Indiana that has been helping us out for a few weeks.

Hive Share Harvest Festival

Sadly due to the covid 19 lockdown we won't be able to celebrate the Hive Share Harvest together. We were really looking forward to it. However watch this space as we look to create some videos of honey extraction. We will be contacting you very soon to explain how you will be getting your SWEET returns.
