Hello ener-G-savers,
This April marks the 50th anniversary of Earth Day. Luckily, being asked to practice distancing from other humans does not mean we need to miss out on enjoying and celebrating the earth and this anniversary. Maybe we do so even more right now, when one of the few permissible activities is spending time outdoors. And it’s free too!
Here are some ideas:
Look for ephemerals in the woods - these tiny flowers are wonderful examples of delicacy and resilience. See how many varieties you can find!
Listen to peepers and other frogs’ concerts in the ponds and wetlands at sundown.
Plant native shrubs and flowers in your garden to provide food for bees, butterflies, and birds this summer. You could check if your local nursery delivers or has curbside pick-up.
And then, back at your computer, join our Cooler Communities team in the Eco-Challenge - we are up to 50 members, and counting, joining over 600 teams nationwide. See more below.
