Hello all

It's only 19 days since I last wrote but the world seems a very different place.

I had so many lovely emails and messages since my last mailing and so wanted to reach out to you all again with a similar mailing, but with some new links and added support you may need at this time.

We've been under lockdown here in the UK for 2 weeks now and I am very fortunate to already work from home, and have the space to do that, so sending all of you suddenly thrown into this situation my best wishes - and special wishes to those of you also having to suddenly home-school your children!

So again this extra newsletter comes to you for a variety of different reasons but, as before, it is mostly to reach out and say that I hope you and your loved ones are well and that you take care of your physical & mental health at this stressful time.

I hope you enjoyed the links from last time, and I have plenty more below, so do read on for plenty to keep you occupied and well over the next few weeks.

Until my next newsletter (which will be within the next 1-2 days and will be a 'regular' newsletter) I wish you good health, and, of course, lots of happy beading!

P.S. Feel free to ignore all the links and everyone talking about how productive they're being at this time, and use the time do do nothing other than get through it.
The last thing you need right now is to pressurise yourself and feel that you're failing.
These are exceptional times and we weren't all Shakespeare or Isaac Newton before them, so we're not going to magically be during them either (this article will make the last sentence make more sense!)

The beading world

It is wonderful to see so many beaders & quilters I'm friends with on Facebook rally around and turn their hands to sewing to make facemasks for those in need. There are lots of online tutorials if you want to do this (one is here but please do your own research as to medical protection and also some guidance on fabric selection and making masks without sewing here).

If doing that isn't your thing there here are some nice beading (or sewing) things I've seen over the last few days:

Taking care of yourself

Last time I provided some nice links to ways you can keep physically & mentally week but this time I wanted to reach out with some more serious links for those of you who may need them.

FOOD
If you are in need of help to get food there are lots of resources out there.
You can search for a local foodbank or find one via these links:
or here in the UK you can access Covid-19 Mutual Aid UK.

DOMESTIC SITUATION
This is going to be a very difficult time for many of you at home in tough situations so please do reach out to friends, relatives, beading friends, or even me, if your domestic situation is harmful to you or even just difficult and you want to talk. Or, if you need more urgent help, then do reach out to medical professionals or the police. You do not have to suffer in silence.

You can search for 'domestic abuse help' and add where you are to find somewhere local to you or these (Uk-based) guidances here and here may provide more specific help.
Here are some local support websites which may help you (these are all in English and may not be relevant to your situation so again please do search for more relevant help or if you need immediate help contact the police or medical service);

DEPRESSION
If you are feeling depressed then there are lots of places you can turn to for help. You can search for "depression support' and add in where you live to find some, or if you need more urgent help then you can find hotlines where you can speak to someone wherever you are here and here.

Fun things on the internet

There are so many things to see on the internet but here are some which have caught my eye recently:
