Families and Advocates,

Last week, Governor John Bel Edwards extended his shelter-in-place mandate through April 30th.  Our Day Program will remain closed throughout the duration of Gov. Edwards’ mandate. Additionally, ALL non-essential visitors are prohibited on campus and in group homes through April 30, 2020.

All non-essential visitors include family members, friends and non-Magnolia employees who are deemed as non-essential by the Louisiana Department of Health. Visitors deemed essential, vital, or necessary to resident’s care and well-being, include direct care staff, nurses, Magnolia’s Medical Director and/or other licensed health care providers. Magnolia is monitoring all staff members’ health conditions and restricting entry to group homes if symptoms are present.

If you would like to set up a FaceTime, Skype or Google DUO video call, please contact your loved one’s Case Manager. Please note that all Case Mangers are working various roles on campus to help protect your loved ones and are receiving a high volume of calls currently. Please be patient and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Again, I want to thank you all for continued cooperation and support during this time.

James Oertling
Board President
