Distance, not Disconnection

"As a digital nomad that has been traveling full-time for several years, finding a coworking space is one of my top priorities every time I arrive in a new city. I am usually pleased with good wifi and coffee, but at BEAHIVE I was surprised: I found more.
It's not only the coziness of the space, it's also the sense of community that makes me feel just like home. It is not easy to find.
BEAHIVE, more than a coworking space, it feels like family."
— Andrés Piñeiro Coen, social media consultant

The original motivations for starting BEAHIVE 11 years ago had almost nothing to do with physical space but everything to do with community and connection.

So, while we can't physically convene, we’ve transitioned to a Virtual Hive with ways to keep our community going and continue to help counter isolation and loneliness while aiding and abetting motivation and productivity.

Example events include Corona Coworking (say what?!), Mindful Moments, Corona Coffee Klatsches, and a Q&A with attorney Gary Schuster.

For now these virtual events are for members only, but we may soon plan some for the public. It's hard to say with certainty anymore what the future brings.

In the meantime... stay safe and sane. Hope to see you in the flesh soon.

Coronavirus Aid for Freelancers + Small Businesses

Much of the aid being bandied about in Washington and Albany will directly support employees and corporations, not the self-employed.

For weeks we've been compiling what support is available and updating as the situation evolves.

Will Working Remotely Work for You?

Prescient? Perhaps.

We recently got this email from a career counselor:
“I have just finished reading your article. While much has been written on this topic, your piece stands out — it’s empirical, captivating and immensely beneficial."

We posted that last year — suppose now is a good time to revisit it. What do you think?

Albany Blood Drive

Recently the American Red Cross of Northeastern New York announced that our Albany partner Tracy Metzger would serve as an honorary co-chair for its 22nd annual Fire + Ice Gala later this month.

Of course the gala has since been canceled. All efforts are now focused on blood collection, as drives continue to be canceled at an alarming rate around the country — nearly 9000, so far — resulting in more than 250,000 fewer donations.

So the Albany hive is sponsoring a blood drive. The Red Cross encourages eligible donors who are healthy to schedule an appointment. Walk-ins will not be accepted — to ensure social distancing.

Unshakeable Wellbeing for Women

Amy is also working on a 6-week program and is looking for 10 women to join her in community to practice grounding, deep self-care, inquiry, and ultimately tap into your innate wellbeing.

Everything in the program is designed to help you create and stick to a routine, stay accountable to yourself, stay healthy, and not just manage the feelings of loneliness, isolation, and uncertainty, but THRIVE through them and beyond.

If interested, schedule an intro call with Amy.
