Regional Business Partnership Support

– Enterprise North Canterbury

Enterprise North Canterbury (ENC) has contracted Mel Skinner for 12 weeks as an additional business support resource in the Kaikōura region. This has been made possible through the Regional Business Partner (RBP) COVID-19 Advisory Funding allocated from the Government’s business response package. Mel will be supporting Miles Dalton and Guy Graham of ENC.
Mel will be working with Kaikōura businesses to assist ENC in identifying their key area of support, to enable an enhanced recovery from the current COVID-19 circumstances.
Following an assessment, if businesses meet the RBP criteria, eligible Kaikōura businesses will be able to access a range of approved support services in the following areas:

  • HR - challenges with COVID-19-related employment law obligations with respect to restructuring, redundancy and change of work hours.
  • Business continuity planning - Support creating contingency plans to help your business get through the next few months and build team readiness and resilience.
  • Finance and cashflow management – Advice and support in areas of such as cash flow, payroll and accounts receivable/payable.
  • Health and wellness – understand how deliver positive messaging, stay connected through remote channels and how to access EAP assistance programmes

Wellbeing and Support:

It is important for you to be kind to yourself during this time and making sure that you are taking care of yourself.
The uncertainty of the future and then also being in isolation, makes COVID19 extremely challenging for business owners. Trying to plan your and/or run your business, communicate to staff, keep morale up, making hard decision and looking after your ‘bubbles’ is a dauting task.  When you can’t connect the same way you used to, it is easy to fell alone and disheartened.
Business and industry association are a great way to get information and connect to business support and like-minded people.
There are also more specific Wellbeing organisations and people around to help as well:
