Focus

The definition of FOCUS:  the center of interest or activity or pay particular attention to

We are living in a strange time...a time where we cannot go anywhere, do anything, or see anyone. Life has changed dramatically over the last few weeks for all of us. This is the new normal for now. So let me ask you a question, what are you focusing on? I mean you have the time, right?

Have you ever said, “if I just had more time, I would do_________!” Well, now you have the time. This should not be a time to sit in our homes living in fear; this should be the time that we either start or accomplish the thing that we would do if we had more time.

One of the things I am trying to do is spend more time with my daughter. The other day we went to Wal-Mart. We bought a basketball, a glove, and a baseball. She wants to learn to play catch, hit a ball, and play basketball. I decided that I was going to take this time to teach her those things because, if I had more time I would do that. So we were outside playing catch and she was doing pretty well for a 6 year old girl who has never really thrown a ball...until I accidentally hit her in the face with the baseball!  I know what you are thinking, why would you hit your daughter in the face with a baseball? It was a accident! After she stopped crying, we continued. 😎

My focus is her right now.

Perhaps your focus is family too. Or maybe it is a hobby. Or maybe your focus is the book that you have wanted to write, but you had too many distractions.

25 Look straight ahead,
    and fix your eyes on what lies before you.
26 Mark out a straight path for your feet;
    stay on the safe path.
27 Don’t get sidetracked;
    keep your feet from following evil.
        ~Proverbs 4:25-27

At my other job, we close every meeting with a phrase that I want to use to close this out:

GET BACK TO WORK!

Operation #FORthe309 Fasting & Prayer

Dates: Monday, April 6 - Friday, April 10

We are #ForThe309 (those who call Central Illinois home). As part of the Body of Christ in our community, we are calling our members to conduct a 5 day fast (Daniel fast or simply fast 2 meals/day) while praying Psalm 91 specifically over the Tri-County region as well as praying for wisdom (James 1:5) over all leaders and other key decision-makers (1 Tim 2:1-2) as they navigate this storm. We also want to pray specifically for God to move on hearts this Sunday as we celebrate Easter online.
