What's New?
  • Lots and lots of colleges are jumping on the test-optional bandwagon (at least for this coming admissions cycle). Included are: all University of California campuses, Amherst, Vassar, Pomona, Boston University, all public universities in Oregon, Tufts, Davidson, Williams, Scripps, Santa Clara, Northeastern. Click here for a list and stay tuned--there'll be more.

  • And speaking of testing, the College Board just announced that they are developing an at-home SAT to be available in the fall. Details coming soon.

  • Many schools are extending the deadline for admitted students to send deposits from May 1 to June 1 or later. Of note, this list includes very few of the schools with the biggest endowments. See a list of schools with the biggest bucks here.

  • Seniors should have received their acceptance letters and financial aid awards from most colleges. If your household has experienced job or business loss due to the pandemic, contact financial aid at your child's selected school to discuss the possibility of enhancing the award.

  • Students will be able to take in-home AP exams during the window of May 11-22  or June 1-5. Test material will be scaled back to include topics that most AP teachers had covered in class by early March. More details here.

  • Juniors: Hate being housebound?  Read this blog post for some good ideas for extracurriculars you can engage in without leaving your bedroom.
