We're Zoom Zoom Zooming Into Term 2

By now we're sure you've heard about the Online Videoconferencing Program, Zoom.  It's being widely used all over the World as more and more people are isolating and working from home.  In the news you'll read about the many ways people are now Zooming as part of their daily lives:
  • Work Meetings
  • Conversations and coffee catchups with friends and family
  • Study groups and school classes
  • Dinner parties between groups of friends
The possibilities are only as endless as our imaginations, and you may well have already experimented with some of these from the comfort of your home.

If you're still new to Zoom why not try it out for yourself?  Those who have are finding it an enjoyable and interesting way to escape the isolation currently imposed on us.  And recent upgrades by Zoom have ensured that security should not be an issue for our Members.

Log onto our Website and select the "Click here to see how to get started and how to join a Zoom meeting" button; you'll find a comprehensive guide to help you start Zooming as well as a "Keep calm and Zoom on" section to answer any concerns you may have about Zooming with us.

And for those who missed our "Try It" Zoom practice sessions last week, you have one more chance on Monday 13 April at 10:30am.  These sessions give you an opportunity to join a casual group chat and ask questions to help you become more familiar with using Zoom.  You'll find the link for this final meeting by logging on to our Website and selecting "Click here to see how to join a Zoom 'try it and see' meeting" - just click on the session name at the appointed time.

How Will Zoom Affect Your Course at U3APP?

While not every U3APP Course translates well to an Online setting, our wonderful Tutors, along with the Course Coordination Team, the Covid-19 Working Group, the CoM, the IT Team and the ITEM Team, have all been busy beavering behind the scenes to ensure they can bring our Members what was no doubt much-missed learnings over the past month - and we take this opportunity to offer our very grateful thanks to all involved in ensuring this continuity.

Our latest Course Guide shows all the Courses that will be starting or resuming Online, with some being run via email, when Term 2 begins on Tuesday 14 April.  Members already booked into Courses will be receiving an email TODAY about their particular Course/s.  If you don't receive yours, check your Junk or Spam folder as you may find it there.  You can view the Course Guide
here and download a printable version here.

Accessing your Zoom class will be easy.  On the day and time of your Course, logon to the U3APP Website and select the "Click here to join your online class" button.  You can also find it by going to "Online U3APP Course Links" under
the "Courses and Enrolling" button on the Homepage.  Scroll down to find your Course and click on it to join the class - it's that simple.

What's Hiding in Your Junk e-Mail?

Most likely it's just that - Junk or Spam e-mails - and if you don't open them or click on any links in them, there's nothing to worry about.

BUT it's worth checking regularly at the moment because you'll be receiving emails from members of our IT Team, and possibly information from your U3A Tutor with details about your upcoming Classes.
