Fun Things To Do While Staying At Home

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the government and healthcare professionals have stressed the importance of social distancing and self-isolation. As working remotely and staying home are becoming the new norm, there are many things you can do to keep yourself busy and productive. Here are a few ideas you can do the next time you’re bored at home.

Starting a new TV series or documentary
Do you have a list of documentaries that you’ve been meaning to watch? Now is the perfect time to start. There are lots of great shows on Netflix and other platforms. Lots of them are doing a month free to test them out right now. Check out the ‘Daily Top 10’ for ideas of what to watch. You can even watch it with some company by using Netflix Party, a Google Chome extension that allows you to watch with friends. It’s great to find ways to still socialize while staying at home!

Clean out your wardrobe
Admit it – this is a chore that you’ve been putting off for months, maybe even years. What better time to declutter your closet than now? You’ll thank yourself post-quarantine when you can easily find that one sweater you always liked instead of having to dig through a pile of clothes you haven’t worn in months. For some ideas on how to de-clutter, check out ‘Tidying Up with Marie Kondo’ on Netfllix!

Stay active and healthy
Even though gyms are closed, it doesn’t mean you can’t have a good workout. There are plenty of online home routines that do not require weights or equipment. Try using an app to run your home workout—Downdog is great and is free until May 1st! Another option is going for a jog around the neighbourhood and enjoying the fresh air (but remember to practice proper social distancing, of course). It’s important to get out of the house for a change in scenery and to keep motivated. Overall, stay healthy and active friends.
