We hope this update finds you well as we all navigate this very challenging time. The team at Rinehart Clinic is doing our best to adapt to the quickly-changing realities of providing health care while we continue to focus on keeping our patients, our staff, and our community safe during a global pandemic.

This newsletter outlines some of the changes we have made at the clinic and pharmacy, and many more are likely in store as we receive updated guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control, Oregon Health Authority, and other agencies working to control the spread of the coronavirus.

Rinehart Clinic’s COVID-19 Response Plan, as well as other important information and resources, can be found on our website:  www.rinehartclinic.org/covid19-update

Please stay tuned to our website and Facebook page for the latest developments.

NEW (temporary) HOURS

To help lessen the potential exposure of staff, patients, and customers to the coronavirus, we have made a temporary adjustment to the operating hours for both the clinic and pharmacy.

CLINIC Hours:
Monday:  8 am - 6 pm
Tuesday – Friday:  8 am - 5 pm

PHARMACY Hours:
Monday:  8 am – 1 pm / 2 pm – 6 pm
Tuesday – Friday:  8 am – 1 pm / 2 pm – 5 pm
(Pharmacy closed for lunch from 1 - 2 pm every day.)

Please wear face masks if you have them

As you may know, the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention (CDC) is now recommending cloth face masks for all people in public settings where social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. We are now asking ALL patients and customers to wear masks when they come to Rinehart Clinic and Pharmacy. If you do not have a mask, the clinic will provide one.

It is important to note that ALL physical distancing requirements laid out in Governor Brown's Stay Home, Save Lives order still apply. Masks are just one more tool we can use to help curb the spread of the virus. It is critical we stay home if possible, maintain a distance of at least six feet from other people, wash your hands regularly and thoroughly, etc.
Update from your Care Team at Rinehart Clinic:
If you are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19 (fever, cough, shortness of breath, pain in your chest when coughing or breathing), PLEASE CALL THE CLINIC BEFORE YOU COME IN. Our Registered Nurses can assess your symptoms over the phone and can offer advice on whether you should come in to be seen by your Doctor or Family Nurse Practitioner.

Patients & Customers welcome, but we are requesting NO VISITORS at this time – We ask that anyone accompanying a patient or pharmacy customer remain in their cars (or outside) during the patient’s appointment, UNLESS they are with a minor child or assisting someone who needs help getting in and out of the car or building.

Telephone Appointments + Telehealth (i.e. video appointments) visits coming soon! – Rinehart Clinic's Primary Care Providers are offering appointments by telephone for most visits and starting to implement telehealth visits as well. (See details below.) Your provider and nurses will help determine if you need to come in to the clinic for an in-person appointment.
About Telehealth:  Our Primary Care Providers (Dr. Luty, Dr. Andersen, and Family Nurse Practitioner Leanna Coy) are conducting most of their appointments by telephone and are starting to implement telehealth visits, thanks to emergency funding from the federal government. These "virtual" visits include secure live video-conference discussions between patients and their providers using a computer, smart phone, or other device. For those without this technology, phone visits are still available.

Telehealth visits with Rinehart Clinic providers are in the testing phase. We offer a special thanks to those patients who have graciously helped us test this new technology. With feedback from patients and additional testing, we will be able to fine-tune the process to expand telehealth options.

A note from our Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW), who have transitioned entirely to phone visits for the safety of our patients: We know this is a challenging time for you and your loved ones. If you are interested in additional support, our LCSWs (Terra Marzano and Sara Todd) are available for appointments. They can offer emotional support, help in managing the impact of social isolation, and can provide information on resources that may be helpful during this time. Please call 1-800-368-5182 to schedule an appointment.

Virtual Acupuncture? Yes! Our Acupuncturist, Liz Vitale, can consult with patients by phone (and soon by telehealth) to walk you through easy acupressure steps and offer advice on ways you can help boost your immune system and practice self-care at home during this time. If you would like to schedule an appointment with Liz, please call the clinic at 1-800-368-5182.

Liz can also prescribe herbal formulas available at the Rinehart Pharmacy that can help reduce stress, boost immune function, and treat respiratory symptoms such as cough, congestion, fever, and difficulty breathing. (Don’t forget about Rinehart Pharmacy’s curbside pick-up option – see details below.)

NEW - Curbside Prescription Pick-up at the Pharmacy

Rinehart Pharmacy is now offering a curbside pick-up option for most prescriptions. Just call in like you normally would to request your medication order or refill. Once the pharmacy has notified you the order is ready, you can pay over the phone (credit or debit only), then text the pharmacy when you arrive in the parking lot and staff will deliver your order to you. Find all the details on our Pharmacy Services page: www.rinehartclinic.org/pharmacy

We know things are moving fast! The Rinehart Clinic, along with other Federally Qualified Health Centers throughout the state (and across the U.S.) are rapidly changing the way we deliver care during this time. We know when we roll out new services, such as phone visits or telehealth appointments, there may be bumps along the way. Please know we are working behind the scenes, and adjusting as necessary, to provide the best, safest care. If you have feedback or comments, please email our Quality Team at qualityteam@rinehartclinic.org.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to keep our community safe and healthy during difficult time.
