Managing Stress Part 4 - Listen to Music
DAY 4 - Listen to Music
Feeling joy from the experiences connected to music is a great way to soothe yourself and build resilience. Music has the potential to change, maintain and enhance mood, while provides solace, acting as a comforting friend. Music listening is an effective means for relaxation and emotional self-regulation. Think about how music can elevate your mood – listen to your favorites, sing along, play an instrument, dance, or do all three.
Saturate yourself in music. Use it to help you energize, to express or soothe emotions, as a healthy distraction, or to take a walk down memory lane. Isn’t it fun the way music can take you back to a specific place in time? Choose songs that elicit great memories. Crank it up or keep it mellow.
List your top 5 favorite songs. How often do you listen to them? How about making playlists for yourself? If you already have playlists that you enjoy, share them with friends & family as a way of connecting. Take a music break during your workday, listen to upbeat music when getting ready for the day and calming music in the evening.
In continued wellness, Andrea
