COVID-19 Business Roundup
> Starting today, small businesses and sole proprietorships can receive loans to cover payroll and other certain expenses. Starting April 10, independent contractors and self-employed individuals can apply. The forgivable loans through the Paycheck Protection Program are available to small businesses, veteran organizations, eligible nonprofits and religious organizations, and eligible independently owned franchises. > Welcome to Memphis is disseminating financial assistance to Memphis area hospitality professionals affected by the coronavirus pandemic through the Welcome to Memphis COVID-19 Fund. Hourly workers in the hospitality industry who have been terminated due to the COVID-19 crisis may apply for a one-time grant online at the Welcome to Memphis website.

> ArtsMemphis is allocating $50,000 to provide funding to artists most impacted by the coronavirus pandemic and its economic consequences. The flexible funding will be used to help in recovering from lost income due to canceled events, job layoff, or furlough. Applications are being accepted from self-employed artists of all arts disciplines as well as artists employed or contracted by nonprofit arts and culture organizations in Shelby County. > To combat the shortage, UTHSC’s department of oral and maxillofacial surgery is using 3D printers to produce medical masks. In addition, the Plough Center for Sterile Drug Delivery Solutions this week started production of hand sanitizer.
> To ensure people can remain connected, ER2 and its sister company ReviveIT are providing communication devices for remote employees, students and school systems, and hospital patients.

> Memphis Made Brewing Co. announced it will begin distribution of its craft beers outside of Shelby County for the first time since the company’s inception. The brewery — whose signature beers include Fireside, Cat Nap, and Junt — signed a distribution agreement with Clark Beverage Group, Inc. Expect to see selections from Memphis Made arrive in stores throughout North Mississippi soon.
