Our core mission at SPUR is to strengthen our community and give volunteers a platform to engage and help. Now more than ever, acts of kindness and solidarity are necessary, and we couldn’t be more proud of the ways our community has come together these last few weeks.
We have been busy at work, identifying immediate needs and mobilizing to address them. Our array of volunteer opportunities have now been replaced with efforts ranging from sewing masks and grocery shopping for our most vulnerable neighbors, to connecting phone pals and providing resources through an online support forum.
We would like to thank our donors who have continued to provide financial gifts in support of our work. While things are challenging, they are not impossible. Giving is a big part of helping, as is volunteering. Despite giving being down and fundraisers likely postponed, our work doesn't stop. It won't be 50, $1,000 gifts that get us through right now, but the 5,000, $10 gifts. Please consider partnering with us now. Set-up a monthly gift of any amount or donate one-time. Be part of the good in this time of crisis.
Thank you to our volunteers and supporters. Thank you to all the essential personnel working to keep people healthy, nourished and safe. These are challenging times, but we know we will get through this together.
