COVID-19 Updates for Howard County Businesses

HCEDA is committed to keeping our business community informed on support and resources available to companies affected by the Coronavirus. Please fill out this brief COVID-19 business survey to help inform HCEDA in its efforts to provide information and assistance in the most effective manner possible.  

Business News & Updates

Today, U.S. Department of Treasury Launches Paycheck Protection Program (PPP)  for businesses who are anticipating applying to the SBA Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) can begin applying now. Application submission begins TODAY for small businesses and sole proprietors, and April 10 for independent contractors and self-employed individuals. The PPP provides up to $10 million in forgivable loans to assist businesses in keeping there employees. Even if your business has already reduced employment, you are still eligible based on employment levels prior to February 15. 


Unemployment Resources  
The Howard County Office of Workforce Development has compiled answers to frequently asked questions available online, including ways to file for unemployment insurance, and assistance with job search and training needs. Click here to visit the FAQ page.

Howard County Government Launches COVID-19 Tracking Dashboard 
Yesterday, Howard County government launched a new dashboard tracking COVID-19 in the county, including active cases, recovered cases, and deaths. The information is sourced from the Howard County Health Department and updates daily, it may differ from the Maryland Department of Health due to the timing of data collection.
