On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Seminary Co-op Bookstores I’d like to thank all of you for your generous support of the Seminary Co-op through our nearly 60 years of existence, and especially through the current crisis created by the COVID-19 pandemic. We recognize that this is a moment of extreme hardship for everyone, and that many of you may be dealing with illness, worry about loved ones, as well as financial constraints and upheaval. That so many of you over the last several days have found a place in your concerns for the needs of the Seminary Co-op Bookstores has deeply touched all of us on the Board.
As you have heard from Jeff Deutsch, Director of the Seminary Co-op and 57th St. Bookstores, we are exploring every possible means of fulfilling our payroll obligations to our 45 wonderful staff members, who are a vital part of our community and who have made our Bookstores the unique institutions they are. Every dollar that you give toward our goal of $250,000 makes this possible.
Under Jeff’s leadership we will make every effort to support our booksellers and to make it possible for you to purchase safely the books that you need as you shelter in place or participate in remote learning. We will continue to update you on the status of the Bookstores throughout the crisis and look forward to the moment when once again we can gather at The Front Table, a Weekly Storytime, an author’s reading, or merely in the aisles between our many bookshelves.
With sincerest thanks for your support,
