Dave's Corner 💭
With the difficulty acquiring food right now, more people than normal are planting seeds to grow some of their own produce. We're planting squash, cucumbers, beans, and zucchini. These are our favorites, but many get the same pests (squash bugs) so we'll see how it goes. They destroyed our zucchini crop last year.

- Traffic Signal Problems
The Manhattan Drive and 127/Park Street light has been changed to always give a walk signal to pedestrians to cross Park Street regardless of whether anyone is there. This is needlessly disrupting traffic flow. I can no longer make the Manhattan Drive/Champlain Street light on my bike as the green only lasts about three seconds once the light on Park turns green. The first car can only make that running a yellow light. It is now a rarity to hit both green lights biking from the east as well. Please set the walk signal to only go off when the button is pressed like it was back in early March and prior.

Random Burlingtonian Quote of the Day 📝
The rise of new science in the seventeenth century laid hold upon general culture in the next century. The enlightenment... testified to the widespread belief that at last light had dawned, that dissipation of ignorance, superstition, and bigotry was at hand, and the triumph of reason was assured -- for reason was counterpart in man of the laws of nature which science was disclosing. The reign of law in the natural world was to be followed by the reign of law in human affairs.
—John Dewey
