Your Thymus Gland
Your thymus gland is found in the middle of your chest right next to your heart. The thymus gland is there to help us with immunity. It is most active in childhood as everything we get exposed to is new and different and it has to decide if a foreign invader to our body is friend or foe. As we age it does less and so doesn’t need to work as hard and just like a muscle it shrivels in size.
The thymus gland is sometimes referred to as the happiness point and has a role to play in keeping us calm, vamping up our positive energy and supporting our health and immunity, A simple and useful technique called thymus tapping helps this gland help us.
Location of points
The first two points are K27 points. These are the 27th and last points on the kidney meridians of the acupuncture circuit. They are important organisers of the energy flow throughout the body. When the energy to K27 is blocked it can manifest as low energy, being tired or sick all the time and low immunity.
They are located between the clavicle and the first rib up against the breastbone. To find them, place your fingertips on the U-shaped notch at the top of the breastbone, right about where a man knots his tie. Then move your fingers out to each side and down about an inch. Most people have small depressions there.
The next point is the thymus point. Your thymus gland is located between your throat chakra in the middle of your throat, and your heart chakra in the centre of your chest. If you feel where the two sides of your collar bone meet below your throat, there is a space or a little dent. Right below is a small rounded spot that is slightly raised that is the point you are looking for.
The next two points are spleen Neurolymphatic points. These are part of the lymph system which is the body’s internal rubbish removal system and helps the body remove toxins, fight infection, balance hormones and stress and is known for metabolising food and helping with weight loss. Thee two points are found directly under the nipple and in the depression where the 7th and 8th rib are located, this is right where your bra underwire sits. This is why it is often recommended that women were wireless bras as the constant pressure of wearing a wired bra can negatively affect this area and how it works.
How to do it:
These points are likely to be sensitive so start gently and with 15 to 30 seconds on each point, however, you can increase those to 60 seconds as the sensitivity reduces. When the points are sensitive they are needing attention, Use your fingers, and keep breathing as you do this.
Start with a gentle rub using the four fingers of your hand. Breathe in and out. You can also add an affirmation such as “all is well in my world” or “my immune system is strong”.
Start with K27 points and then move to the thymus and then the Neurolymphatic points.
Do this every day to boost your life energy and keep your thymus gland activated. You can increase to several times a day if you are suffering from anxiety, panic attacks or stress and allow your life energy to come alive.
