March brought the world an unprecedented cultural shift, but we're doing our best to stay positive! Here are some inspiring things our wonderful region is doing this month:
SUPPORTING OUR COMMUNITY IN THE WAKE OF COVID-19
Our newsfeeds are swollen with the latest news of the epidemic. During these stressful times, it's more important than ever to support our neighbors and local community. This can feel like a difficult task, but it doesnt have to. Here are some things everybody can do to keep their community strong.
'GRAM OF THE MONTH
We're loving this look from Rock Creek Trail in Greenwood, SC. Thanks @lisawiecki for sharing your hike with us! (Don't worry everyone, it was before the world went into lockdown.) Want us to see your photo? Tag us at @Old96Tourism on Instagram, and use the hashtag #ExploreOld96 ! (Consider giving us a follow, too!)
MUSIC FOR THE SOUL
Music has a way of lifting our spirits. Uptown Greenwood has taken to Facebook sharing near-daily live music streams featuring local artists, like The Old Earthquake.
SOAP WITH STYLE
Storefronts may be closed, but many stores are still selling online! Breezy Quarters in Abbeville, SC sells handmade soaps, lotions, and other bath goodies to elevate your self-care routine. Plus, they have free shipping.
GOING ABOVE AND BEYOND
Carolina Moon Distillery in Edgefield, SC has halted their liquor production and put their equipment to a different use: making hand sanitizer! Currently, it's reserved for first responders and other essential workers. We want to commend them for helping out!

VIRTUAL TOURS
The Arts Center of Greenwood has created a free virtual tour of the art museum, so we can stroll through and appreciate local artists from the safety and comfort of our couch. Many places in Old 96 District are looking to do the same, so give us a follow (if you haven't already) on social media to be the first to hear about them!
