Celebrating the Lord’s Supper

This coming Sunday, April 5, is Palm Sunday. It signals the start of Holy Week as Jesus enters Jerusalem to give his life for our forgiveness and salvation. Since this is the first Sunday of the month, we want to honor our usual practice of observing communion.  We offer three options as a “virtual” extension of our communion table.

This Sunday, we invite you to celebrate the Lord’s Supper in one of the following ways:
  1. Join with others in one of three Zoom connections as a pastor directs us to partake of the communion elements in unison (8:30, 9:30, and 11:00 AM).
  2. Individually follow the communion video recording included in Sunday's format.
  3. For those without internet access, phone Colleen Soldate 328-5465 to arrange for communion by phone. If you know of someone who may need to be served in this way, please let us know.
Whichever communion experience you choose, you will need to provide and prepare the communion elements ahead of time.  Here is what you will need:
  • bread -- some form of bread or cracker;
  • juice or wine, preferably red; if you have neither of these then any suitable liquid;
  • a cup, wine glass, or chalice.
Do your best under these unusual circumstances, without too much concern for the details. God understands!

For all who choose to participate via Zoom, be advised that our account allows for up to 100 participants per connection. If you are unable to connect at 8:30 or 9:30 try again at 11:00 AM.

Here are the links for each of the respective worship times.

Disaster Relief Fund

Thanks to all who generously donated to the Fire Relief Fund during the 2017 Tubbs Fire, we were able to provide significant support and recovery of loss to over 70 households.  We also reached out to offer support for those who incurred financial loss as a result of the 2019 Kinkade Fire.

With the balance remaining, Session wanted to be able to respond with similar support and financial assistance to those affected by other disasters. Therefore, we are expanding the focus of this fund to serve a more general disaster relief purpose. If you donated to the Fire Relief Fund and have any questions or concerns about having your donation re-directed to a general Disaster Relief Fund, please contact Finance Coordinator Ann Hall: Ann@fpcsantarosa.org or 890-8014.

If you or someone you know related to our congregation is in need of financial assistance as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, please contact any member of our Disaster Response Team:  Frank Gorman, Dale Flowers, Linda Maloney, Preston Paull, Allie Shoulders, or Colleen Soldate.
