Reflect – The crowd praised Jesus and waved palm branches (a sign of victory), assuming that Jesus was about to rescue them from corrupt, tyrannical leadership and take the earthly throne of power for himself. Had Jesus taken that kind of glory for himself, his kingdom would have ended long ago. Jesus had a bigger, better plan in mind–one that saves even us!
Pray – Are you disappointed that God is not answering your prayers in the way you anticipated? Have your songs of praise become cries of desperation and lamentation? Give your expectations and disappointment to God in prayer. Ask God to give you patience and show you that his plan is worth waiting for.
Act – Grab a palm branch, t-shirt, or Terrible Towel and wave it in the air! Have a parade around the house. Sing a song of praise to God. Give thanks to God for having a plan for salvation that includes you.
