Make what matters, matter today...
So you can survive this storm!

How are you doing?

Are you surviving or thriving?

It’s pretty insane, isn’t it?

All those plans we had – for work, for home, for holidays, for coffee with friends, for life. Just shows, how little control we have – over our world and what happens out there.

In reality, the only thing we can be in charge of is ourselves and our own thoughts, which of course, become our actions.

Some of us have been hit hard – jobs have been lost or income has been slashed. Those with small children have additional stresses and strains as they juggle play time with home schooling in the middle of working and while keeping squabbles at bay.

Some homes have known illness, both covid related and otherwise. Remember, ill health continues during this time. Cancer treatments may have been interrupted. Dialysis too. Those with severe, long term illness have so many other worries too.

Our home may be noisier than usual when we do better in quiet. The extroverts are feeling suffocated as they struggle with cabin fever. The introverts wish there was somewhere to hide as they share space with others. There are very few of us who haven’t been impacted in some way.

And yet, thriving is possible – at least on some days and they’re the days that matter; that will make a difference to how you emerge when ‘this’ is all over.

These are the days when self-care is jugular, rather than optional.

And I understand the temptation to comfort eat or open that bottle of wine earlier each day – but down the road, you’ll wish you did it differently – that you took this time to care for your body and your mind.

I’m working with clients, in a coaching capacity a lot more these days.

Helping those with anxiety feel calm.

Bringing those in overwhelm into clarity and focus.

Working with those who are eating or drinking too much to find a different way to manage their stress.

Asking each one of them to begin again – the journey towards thriving, rather than just surviving.

Get in touch if you’d like help or support to do that too. Because three months from now, you’ll be glad you did.

I’ve been trying to help in some small way by providing some ‘guided relaxation time’ on my Facebook page. Feel to free to check out the first of my video Power Pauses by clicking on the image below – there are several others available on my page with more to follow a few times weekly going forward.
"As a long time client of Ashleigh’s, I really didn’t think a video call would be as good as seeing her in person, but it really helped. Of course, it’s different to being in the room as her, but as always, I really felt heard, listened to and supported by Ashleigh. And I now know how to use WhatsApp video call! Thanks, Ashleigh, for encouraging me to give it a go – it really helped."
