Lives across the globe are changing daily.   Uganda has joined other nations in locking down borders, closing all transportation and limiting gatherings to prevent the spread of covid-19.

True Impact Ministries finds hope in a God who is unchanging, all-knowing and boundless in love and mercy.

We care about all the children, staff and their communities and are seeking out new ways to assist them.

On March 18 we learned that schools were closing for at least 32 days. In the following days we received reports that all our students were safely transported to stay with either guardians, relatives or returned to our orphan homes to remain until the government has lifted restrictions.  Communication has become more challenging, but together we are receiving news of our Ugandan partners planting and sharing seeds, rationing and bartering for food, and seeking to help their communities in a high demand/high cost environment.

Just today we learned that Uganda is planning to start school again on the 27th of April.  Uganda has three school terms that run throughout a calendar year.  They plan the first term to end on June 12th.  Term Two would run June 22nd to September 4th and Term Three would start on the 21st of September and conclude on the 19th of December.

All these dates are contingent upon the virus not having further impact to the country.  Currently Uganda has seen 52 cases and no deaths.

It is difficult to anticipate all the needs that will come in the days ahead.  We are anticipating increasing needs for food, supplies and health care, plus distribution to outlying areas.

By making a donation today, you will help combat the rising costs of food and expenses we incur caring for the children.

:

  • God’s Peace to prevail in an atmosphere of fear and unrest.
  • Food, clean water and supplies to be available to every child we serve.
  • Safety and adequate health care for any household affected by the Covid-19 virus.
  • Limited spread of the virus in a country that is challenged by social distancing, poverty and limited resources for hygiene and health care.

If there is any encouragement in Christ, if there is any consolation of love, if there is any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and compassion,  Make my joy complete by being of the same mind, maintaining the same love, united in spirit, intent on one purpose. – Philippians 2: 1-2

This is a picture of what they are calling a Tippy Tap. It is a way to wash hands without touching the water bottle. Ugandans are learning how to keep themselves clean.
