Virtual Annual Meeting Wednesday May 13th 7 pm
Please forward this newsletter to your new members as our list only covers members through January 2020.

We're going Virtual!

Along with many other organizations, AAUW NC has moved some of its operations to a web platform — Zoom.

As part of the annual meeting preparation, AAUW NC VP Kathy Pearre will be hosting three on-line Zoom tutorials:

  • Thursday, April 9, 11 am
  • Tuesday, April 21, 7 pm
  • Tuesday, May 5, 7:30 pm
There are also plans to let branches host their own meetings using the AAUW NC Zoom account.

To register for any of the tutorials, contact Kathy, vicepresident@aauwnc.org

What changes are in the works?

Since the 2019 conference in Asheville was cancelled on March 12, the AAUW NC board have been hard at work to develop plans for AAUW NC to continue its work in this time of social distancing.

Here are some of the changes:

  • Refunds have been issued for the conference.
  • An annual meeting has been scheduled as a virtual event at 7 pm on Wed, May 13.  Check this link for more information: https://www.aauwnc.org/election-for-2020-2021-officers/
  • AAUW NC has subscribed to a Zoom account.
  • We are looking at ways to deliver some of the conference content in a webinar format.
  • We are still planning for a “live” meeting at the Governor’s Mansion on August 26 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 19th Amendment.
  • As things return to “normal” (or a “new normal”) we hope for face-to-face meetings this fall, perhaps a Presidents’ Council meeting to gather many branch leaders.
