Walk Safe. Always...

• Walk on the sidewalk; if there is no sidewalk, walk facing traffic and as far to the left as possible.
• Yield the right-of-way to motorists and bicyclists when crossing outside of a marked crosswalk.
• Allow ample time for a vehicle to yield prior to entering the street.

• Assume drivers see you. Wait for them to stop and make eye contact before crossing a street.
• Walk after dark and in bad weather without bright and reflective clothing.
• Walk distracted, including talking or texting on your phone or listening to headphones.

• Dogs are to be held securely by a leash of suitable strength, not to exceed six feet in length.

• Dogs are not to be off their leash at any time. There are people walking or riding bikes and they don't want your dog coming at them.

• While walking your dog you must pick up after them.  Dispose of bags in the trash can.  Don’t leave them on the ground. No one wants to pickup others bags especially now.  

Dogs are allowed in the following areas only;
     (1) Lakeview Park from Pontiac Drive to Cheltingham (NOT within the beach area)
     (2) Community Center Park east of Pontiac Drive (Not on the lake side of Pontiac Drive

Dogs prohibited and shall not be allowed in any of the following park areas.
     (1) Ferndale Park
     (2) Community Center Park west of Pontiac Drive
     (3) Lakeview Beach area; and Memorial Park
Any dog found in a prohibited area, shall make the owner subject to a citation and/or immediate impoundment of the dog.
