We're Making History

So let's write about it!

Last week, we went to Outer Space with "i" The Guy. Today, we embark on a journey back in time. We are eager to share "i" The Guy Historian's Journal with all of you. This special journal focuses on adventures from Texas history and the American West and allows our iWRITERs to create historical fiction pieces too. Speaking of history, we are literally living history right. Our children and their children will read about the events of 2020 in their history classes.

Getting back to historical fiction - these stories, movies and novels are made up, but set in the past and sometimes borrow true characteristics of the time period in which it is set. Click on the picture below to download some worksheets from "i" The Guy's Historian Journal.

Let's work on some prompts to get you started to create your own historical fiction story.

Who is your main character? Name, age?
What is your favorite time period? Use this as your setting. Think Medieval, Old West, Mesozoic, etc.
What are some things about a certain time period you want to put into your story?

Don't forget, this is a made up story not a research paper so think outside of the box and let your imagination run wild.
