Masks for First Responders
Lt. David Swain [L] and Deputy Chief Kirk Bane [R] are pictured here with just a few of the handmade masks sewn this weekend by Aberdeen resident Darlene. APD is joining other police and first responders across the United States in wearing face masks during the pandemic. The pattern here, approved by the U.S. Veterans Administration, is fairly simple for those who know their way around the sewing machine or with scissors and a needle and thread. Masks are needed area-wide and Aberdeen has been collecting them for the past two weeks. To join in, take your mask to the box outside the Aberdeen Police Dept lobby at City Hall. In this time of national need, they are greatly appreciated. Join in because Aberdeen is truly “On the Move”!
New CDC Guidelines
The CDC now recommends wearing a cloth face mask in "public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain (e.g., grocery stores and pharmacies)". This mask can be fashioned from household items such as a t-shirt or bandana. Click here to learn more about the CDC's new guidelines and how you can create your own face protection at home.
Additional Trash Services

As a reminder, the City of Aberdeen offers additional trash services to those who need them. You can find more information about those services here. If you have any other questions, please call us at 410.297.4212.
