Unilever announced wide-ranging measures to support global and national efforts to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic. The company is contributing to coronavirus response through product donations, partnerships, and handwashing education programs. 

Unilever is also partnering with the UK government to fund a global program to tackle the spread of coronavirus. The partners will contribute funding of up to £50 million each. The program will reach up to a billion people worldwide, raising awareness and changing behavior, to ensure people are washing their hands with soap. Read more about their COVID-19 efforts here. 

The GHP’s greatest strength is its collective expertise, ideas, and resources of the public and private sectors to promote successful partnerships and sustainable handwashing behavior change. To accelerate action on the local-level, the GHP is developing a series of briefs to facilitate handwashing partnerships on a national or subnational-level and encouraging localized action to fight COVID-19.
