I am contacting you as a former Cornhill Student - you may be surprised to know that you are one of 208 students who have attended Cornhill in the past 14 years, along with 38 students who are currently on the course! It is a great joy to think of so many people serving the Lord in a wide variety of contexts. With the benefit of the Cornhill Training Course equipping you to handle the Bible well you will have all encouraged others to read and hear God’s Word which can only be fruitful work. 
 
As we at Cornhill Scotland look to the years ahead, we now need to establish a really broad base of many donors to fund and secure this ministry for the future.  We have benefitted over the years from a few extremely generous donors who were hugely committed to seeing Cornhill Scotland established and to whom we owe a great debt of gratitude.  Their generosity was essential as Cornhill Scotland got going in its early years.  Now that the obvious benefits of the course are accepted and welcomed by so many evangelical churches in Scotland and beyond we want to invite you and those you know to help us build our supporter base and grow the work.
 
We would be grateful to you if you could take a few moments to watch our recently made video which is hugely encouraging to see examples of the kind of work that former Cornhill are involved with. It’s also an inspiration to those to want to see gospel growth in many more situations across the country.

If every former Cornhill Student were to give even £10 a month, with gift aid, this would amount to over £30,000 annually which would go a long way, for example, in helping two or possibly three churches establish apprentice training schemes like the ones that many of you have benefitted from.
 
Many of you will have had Christian friends who supported you directly during your training and time at Cornhill, and some of you will be in churches which are now benefiting from the training you received at Cornhill. If each of you found two additional donors alongside your own donations our income would grow by nearly £100,000 - doubled or trebled with gifts of £20 or £30 per month. We would be so grateful if you would be willing to commend the work to those who you know may well want to support it financially in this way.

There can be no doubt now that after 14 years of Cornhill, the Church in Scotland has benefitted beyond measure as you all contribute to gospel ministries in so many different places.  As our former students, you are uniquely placed to be the best ambassadors for Cornhill as we persuade others of its vital role in the ongoing training and equipping of people in Scotland and beyond for ministry.  I will email again in about 6 months’ time to let you know how many new standing orders have been received between now and then.  After 12 months we would love to see 100 new financial supporters on board as people hear of the opportunity to help support this strategic work.
