You did it! You’ve completed the How to Make a Comic Book Course! Hopefully you noticed the benefits and unexpected lessons that this process brought. Now that you have the tools and skills needed to successfully make a comic, remember to tell yourself...

CONGRATULATIONS!

Feel free to view further resources by going to our course landing page.

Don’t forget your selfie!

As your students complete their comics, we encourage them to share the work they’ve created with the world. All they have to do is post a selfie they’ve taken with their comic to Twitter and/or Instagram with the hashtag #HowtoMakeaComicBook. Don’t forget to have them tag @making_comics & @hthgse too.

And one more thing...

We’d love to hear your thoughts on the course. You can provide us with kind, specific, and helpful feedback by clicking the button below to go to our post-course survey!

FINAL TEACHER’S CORNER

You did it!

To all the teachers out there who have taken this course and are thinking about adapting this for your class - THANK YOU. We created this course initially so that teachers could properly teach comic creation in their classrooms, with professional standards from the comic industry, on a small budget. We believe that everyone has a right to make comics. Comics are a medium of communication of words and pictures that, once learned, can empower people to tell their stories in dynamic ways.

We encourage your students to take the course and post pictures of them and their comics to Twitter &/or Instagram and tag @making_comics & @hthgse .

As we wrap-up the course we think it's important to circle back to a couple key questions answered in our first “Teacher’s Corner” section in email 1. Again thanks for participating and we look forward to hearing about all the amazing comics you create with your students.

How do I adapt these emails from the course for my students?

We have suggestions for you on how you can do that in each of the emails at the very end in a section like this one called “Teacher’s Corner.” In it we will have tips and tricks for how to adapt this course for your students. All of those can be seen compiled into one webpage here:

So what should I use to help students facilitate feedback?

There are a lot of options for doing this. One of the easier ways to do this is to connect students together through email to have them respond to each other’s work. A slightly more advanced method might be to use Slack (free) to connect your students online. Or, your school or district might already use Google Classroom or another learning management system. We cover a great deal of strategies for how to do this in our course “How To PBL Online.

I’m not sure what to do...

No problem! Another option for getting help to modify this course is to contact us and set up some coaching one-on-one or even get our help to facilitate a unique version of this course just for you and your students. You can inquire about these options by filling out this form.
