Human Touch

Nearly outlawed in current times... Yet another ridiculously simple and powerful gesture that the homo sapien crowd has taken for granted in modern-day (more civilized?) times.

What else have you taken for granted on the links, and upon life's daily (almost deserted) sidewalks?  And what's happened to simple, yet powerful, coaching in this game we love?

Why such an emphasis on smart and smooth talk instead of the sharing of basic and comprehensible concepts?  Why must our blue-lit screen plasterers insist on impressing their vulnerable followers, instead of just helping them?  Why must filling one's pockets and incessantly stroking one's obviously fragile ego be paramount, instead of genuine care, competency and guidance?

Important questions, are they not now-more-than-ever, people?

Click on the hands above, please.  Turn the volume on your device up, close those tired and worried eyes, and receive a blast from The Boss.  Then, wander back this way for some insight on his lyrics, the apparent messages abound of our time, and how both can help you better navigate these ever-so challenging times - in and out of the golf park...

"You and me we were the pretenders
We let it all slip away
In the end what you don't surrender
Well the world just strips away"

Weren't we all, in fact.  Pretending that all was hunky dory with our golfing, and actual lives.  Pretending we had things 'under control' - only to be now living & breathing the Chaos Theory (thank you for the reminder, Dr. Marquardt ;)); much like during a round of golf: sailing along smoothly then BAFF BOOM BANG - a lose swing, bad bounce or unforeseen misfortune rears its ugly head.  How do you respond? Do you 'let it all slip away,' or rather acknowledge, adjust, and adapt.  Fight my friends, fight.

You may not find many grit, resilience and sheer toughness lessons on-line with our sweet-talking crowd - but competitive response is critical for high performance on the links, and elsewhere.  Perhaps you need a dose of Train2Trust along with your daily Vitamin D & Elderberry syrup...

Click below for a taste you can integrate immediately into your practice regime; you'll appreciate it when the seas get rough on-course next time.

Surrender?  Surrendering yourself to the fact that you control so little, on and off the links, can bring you peace of mind, harmony, even bliss.  Afraid the world is 'stripping everything away?'  I understand.  Then remember:

"Zen has nothing to grab onto.."

And surrendering your golf swing to simply paying attention to a feel, a picture, or even a sound (your mind/body system in a state of receiving information), as opposed to a plethora of 'to do' swing thoughts (sending information) that will surely send you into a tizzy.

"I ain't lookin' for prayers or pity
I ain't comin' 'round searchin' for a crutch
I just want someone to talk to
And a little of that human touch
Just a little of that human touch"

Ah... 'faith-healing' ain't gonna help you much on the golf course, or in less-than-splendid times off of it.  Belief, intention and action will, so whatcha waiting for, all you healthy souls out there?

And the proverbial 'crutches' your teacher may be straddling you with... Have you become wholly addicted to, reliant and dependent on that feedback?  The job of the teacher is to empower you to self coach, in any and all situations; is that the case?  If not, time to move on (CS remote coaching now available for those looking for breath of fresh air for their golf - see below..)

The #'s, data and graphs overwhelming you, like this bug is doing to planet Earth currently?  I'm truly sorry.  Your instructor spending more time looking at a screen, than you, your motion, your reactions, and the voyage of the golf ball?  Sounds like you too need 'someone to talk to' - you know: LIVE DIALOGUE.

'And a little of that human touch
Just a little of that human touch'

My remote coaching programs are now available. Indeed, no time like the present; if not now, when?

Swing technique video review via CoachNow,  + stat monitoring with Anova.Golf.  Either or... A little of that human touch included with regular connection, feedback, and live conversation.  Click below on a young CS & madre - I've always loved the bunker, BTW - for specifics, and to get started.

Generous isn't the same as free

"People have been generous with you through the years. A doctor who took the time to understand your pain. A server who didn’t hesitate and brought you what you needed before you even knew you needed it. A boss who gave you a project at just the right time.

Gifts create connection and possibility, but not all gifts have monetary value. In fact, some of the most important gifts involve time, effort and care instead.

Money was invented long after humans arrived on the scene, and commerce can’t solve all problems.

In this moment when we’re so disconnected and afraid, the answer might not be a freebie. That might simply push us further apart. The answer might be showing up to do the difficult work of connection, of caring and of extending ourselves where it’s not expected."
